What is it?

Our Day programs are innovative adult day programs that help adults with intellectual disabilities develop functional skills and discover their talents through volunteer opportunities and engaging social activities.

Our experience shows that volunteer opportunities help individuals give back to their communities, while potentially preparing them for competitive employment.

What kind of activities?

Some of the types of volunteer opportunities that we participate in include assisting in delivering meals, at food pantries, local churches, hospitals, community gardening, animal shelters, libraries and more.

Our dedicated teams work in groups or individually depending on the needs of the individuals we serve.

Individuals learn a variety of social, community, technology, personal and vocational skills they need and have fun while doing it! Activities include visiting parks, swimming, bowling, horseback riding, baseball games, fitness & more.

Program Locations

Our Day Programs are for adults who have completed high school with a diagnosis of an Intellectual Disability or Autism. Being a resident of these counties is not required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone 18 years of age and older who has an IDD diagnosis who has an interest and the ability to participate in group and community involvement. We offer small group ratios of 1:3 and cluster settings unless a 1:1 staff person has been approved for the individual.

Most of the Life Day programs provide transportation round trip to and from the day program. Transportation is provided to and from your home, however, if you reside in a group home, the house staff would be responsible for transporting. Check with your nearest Life Day program to see if they provide transportation.
Currently we have one modified program called “Life Transitions” located in our Orwigsburg location. We are working towards starting a Life Transitions program in our other locations. This program will follow the same format as our Life Program, but will be less community based and more focused on tactile and motor skill activity.
We try to factor in individual preferences when possible, however it is important for us to give each participant experiences at each of our sites. We also have to be mindful of maintaining ratios and sending the needed amount of people to each site.
