About the Program
The objective of the MFC Emerging Leaders Program is to build a framework for identifying and preparing the future generation of multi-faith, multi-sector leaders dedicated to working collectively to enhance public health in Montgomery County, PA. Using a bottom-up approach that seeks to solve community-level problems through community-led responses, the program capitalizes on the energy, creativity, and idealism of early-career professionals, encouraging them to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to long-standing issues which persist in communities across Montgomery County (e.g., homelessness and food insecurity).
The MFC Emerging Leaders Program brings together a group of caring individuals for a unique experience that includes:
- In-person and virtual leadership training with expert facilitators
- In-person meetings focused on community-building and learning through first-hand experiences
- Mentorship and diverse conversations
- Opportunities to apply for volunteer leadership roles in nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and government agencies
Who Should Apply?
No formal leadership title is required. We invite applications from early-career professionals who:
- Live and/or work in Montgomery County, PA
- Are committed to serving the common good in their communities
- Come from any sector—faith-based, public, private, nonprofit or education
- Are eager to grow as collaborative and ethical leaders
- Are open to dialogue across difference and working in multi-faith or multi-cultural settings

What are the expectations of the program?
As a member of the MFC Emerging Leaders Program, participants are expected to:
- Engage Fully in Program Activities – Attend all scheduled in-person convenings and virtual training sessions, actively participating in discussions, group projects, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Contribute to a Safe and Inclusive Environment – Foster a respectful, welcoming space where all participants feel valued and heard, regardless of background or belief system.
- Uphold Ethical Standards – Exhibit integrity, empathy, and accountability in all interactions and leadership endeavors throughout the program and beyond.
- Demonstrate a Commitment to Service – Approach the program with a service-oriented mindset and a sincere desire to contribute to the well-being of Montgomery County communities.
- Commit to Post-Program Engagement – Consider applying for volunteer leadership opportunities and remain involved as an engaged alum in the MFC network.
- Provide Thoughtful Feedback for Program Improvement – Share your feedback to help us improve this program for future cohorts—what worked well, what could be better, and any suggestions you have for enhancing the overall experience.
