Sponsor a Child from Transnistria (Tiraspol)

Rodika

Country: Transnistria (Tiraspol)
Birthday: February 23, 1998
Age: 20

Rodika lives with her older sister Marina and younger brother Sergei at the Chobruchi Orphanage. In 2006, her mother’s ongoing neglect forced Rodika and her siblings to be removed from the home and placed into the orphanage. Only a few years later, one of the most tragic events that could ever happen to a young girl occurred—Rodika’s mother died.

Despite so much suffering, Rodika is a good student and well behaved. As a donor, you have a unique opportunity to be a part of bringing all three Anghelich children together by providing the financial support a willing family needs to take care of them.

The total monthly cost of supporting a child in Transnistria is $105. Sponsors can invest the full monthly amount or donate $35 per month in shared support. Consider splitting the monthly support among family, friends, co-workers or neighbors. To pledge your initial sponsorship, click the button above. Valentin

Country: Transnistria (Tiraspol)
Age: 19

Valentin grew up in a poor and troubled family as the fourth child out of five. His mother died in 1998 and his father was killed in 1997. Valentin was sent to the Glinoye orphanage, where he finished ninth grade.

In June 2010, Valentin was swimming and jumped into the Dniester River, damaging  several cervical disks. He underwent  rehabilitation at Tiraspol Military Hospital but lost complete movement in his legs and most of the movement in his arms. He now faces an uncertain future, with no family to care for him.

For $35 per month, your support provides nutritious meals, housing, clothing, and an education for Valentin. As he grows older, your sponsorship will help him with vocational training and give him the ability to care for himself.

Victor

Country: Transnistria (Tiraspol)
Birthday: April 5, 1995

For Victor, life has been marked by one challenge after another. Victor was born into a family rife with misfortune. His mother, a single divorcee, died of AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) at the age of 32. Since her passing, Victor has bounced from an orphanage to living with his aunt and grandmother. He loves music and though his grandmother hopes he will become a world famous musician, Victor wants to be a doctor. In spite of all of this adversity Victor recently finished accordion lessons and he hopes to find a job. Victor enjoys reading, fishing, watching movie videos and playing computer games. He recently learned to ride a bike. Help Victor fulfill his potential during this transitional period of his life. Your sponsorship is needed and will directly help Victor with his school supplies, education and any health care needs as they arise. Indirectly, your generosity will help Victor’s grandmother and aunt provide for Victor as he works toward a better life.
