Access Services - Creating Better Ways To Serve People With Special Needs

Child & Family - Youth Services

A guiding hand.

Children and youth in the Juvenile Probation System have access to therapeutic services through Rebound, our support services program for adjudicated youth. We will provide therapeutic support to address the clinical needs of the child and in turn improve the child’s relationship at home, in school or work and in the community to help them stay out of trouble.

For more information about Rebound, call the Access Services office closest to you.

Learning life skills through recreation.

The Youth Outdoor Expedition (YOE) program provides recreational activity for adolescents aged 12-16 who experience delinquency, truancy, drug or alcohol related dependencies, conflicts at home, mental illness or other health and safety problems. Activities are chosen to build character, self-esteem and leadership while focusing on teamwork, problem solving, overcoming adversity and developing conflict resolution skills. Participants learn how to camp, climb, hike, fish, swim, canoe and develop other practical skills.

You can invest in this life changing program for at-risk youth by sponsoring one or more of the following opportunities. If you are a businessperson, civic group or organization looking for positive public relations opportunities or visibility, we can discuss a visibility plan that works for you. Contact Dorian Wells at (215) 540-2150 x 324 to learn more about supporting YOE and be sure to visit www.yoetrips.com

Teentalkline.com
The Teen Talk Line is a warm line for teens in Montgomery County.  Teens are encouraged to anonymously call and talk about any issues or problems that they would like without fear of judgment.  The line is manned by peer mentors who received intensive training and supervision while they are on duty.  The line is also located in the Children’s Crisis and Support Program and is a supplement to that program.  This also allows any true crisis calls to be immediately transferred to a crisis worker.  The Teen Talk Line uses contemporary communication methods that appeal to teenagers including, text, chat, phone and email.  The program has a Facebook page and the website allows for immediate text and chat.  The focus of the Teen Talk Line is to provide a preventative approach to teen issues avoiding more serious crisis situations, law enforcement activity and hospitalizations.  The Teen Talk Line also offers the teens who have called the crisis line in the past another avenue of support and from someone their own age.  The Teen Talk Line has also opened up partnerships with schools and has provided an opportunity to build youth leadership through training and volunteerism.
