Rob W. Reid
Chief Executive Officer, Access Services
The board of directors
at Access Services has elected Rob Reid to the position of chief executive
officer at its October 2001 meeting. Since 1998, Reid held the position of executive
director.
Rob Reid is in his 22nd year of service
at Access Services, a Christian, non-profit, social service agency,
located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. He began his career at Access
Services in 1980 as a program staff member, assisting individuals
with developmental disabilities. In 1981, he was promoted to program
specialist. From 1984 to 1986, he served as program director, overseeing
the administration of Community Living Arrangements for individuals
with mental retardation. Rob Reid became regional director of Access
Services in 1986, a position he held until he became executive director
in 1998. During his tenure as regional director, he and his staff
developed a variety of services that offer support to children and
adults with special needs helping them to remain in their homes and
to thrive in their community. Today many of these services continue
to grow and are now the heart of Access Services.
Rob Reid is a 1980 graduate of Eastern
College, St. Davids, Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelors degree
in Social Work. In 1985, he received his Masters of Social Work from
Marywood Graduate School of Social Work, Scranton, Pennsylvania. He
obtained a Paralegal Certificate in 1990 from Penn State University,
Reading, Pennsylvania. In 1995, he achieved the status of Licensed
Social Worker from the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs,
Department of State.
Rob Reid currently serves on the board
for PAR (Pennsylvania Association of Resources for People with Mental
Retardation), Calvary Fellowship Church and is on the advisory board
for Montgomery County Community College. He is involved with The Peacemaker
Center in Downingtown, a counseling and reconciliation service to
the community.
Rob Reid's employment in the field of Social Work is more than just a job.
For this chief executive officer, it is a way of life for him and his family.
For the past eleven years, Rob and his wife, Judy, have opened their home
to be Foster Care and Lifesharing providers for Bethanna and Ken-Crest. The
Reids reside in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, with their three children, Tyler,
16, Christopher, 12, and Lauren, 10.
